Babies Funland’s Black History Month Reading Challenge is here to celebrate the achievements of African Americans and their impact on history. Join our challenge to learn and grow with books that honor the contributions of Black individuals.

Happy February, and happy Black History Month! Since the murder of George Floyd, it’s been hard to know how to honor Black History Month. I am mixed race but not Black, so I want to spend this month learning from Black voices and history. Last year, I read books by Black authors and it was a joyful experience. This year, I’m doing a reading challenge to read different types of books written by Black authors. It’s a great way to learn and support Black culture and creators.

The reading challenge has 20 prompts, and the goal is to read as many as possible in a month. You can choose to read one or all of the prompts, it’s all up to you and your schedule.

You can fit a book into more than one category and you don’t have to finish in a month. At the end of the month, you can use the provided template to share your progress on social media.
