Babies Funland presents an easy DIY activity for kids to make the Indian Flag using items from the kitchen.
The motivation behind writing this blog is to describe the fun and engaging activities I do with my son. One of the things we have done recently is a Tiranga activity using kitchen items to celebrate Independence Day. To initiate this activity, I wrote Hindi vowels and stuck them on the bottom of a bin. Then, I covered each vowel with a different ingredient, such as masoor dal for orange, rice for white, and green gram for green. Additionally, I used chart paper for the Chakra.
After setting up the activity, I gave my son a brush to search for the letters and count them while cross-checking my work on the Chakra. He enjoyed using the brush to find the letters and carefully constructed the Indian flag. The best part is that all the ingredients used are natural and easily found in our kitchens, so I can put them back and not waste anything.
Since my son has recently been learning Hindi as an official language of India, I thought this activity would not only be fun but also educational. I would love to feature other readers’ DIY activities that make learning fun for kids, so if you have any, please email us at [email protected]. Remember to share your activities with us if you try this one!
